Deep Thoughts

I realize it seems a little harsh, but something I have never been good at is flattery, reality is avoided too often by too many and sometimes a small reminder such as this is probably easier for one to accept than an out right slap in the face from life which is so much harsher, as many of you, my sweet friends, may already know.
Life is a challenge especially if we refuse to see it as God has for so long. There are so many wonderful gifts we never see or understand let alone acknowledge.
How we cope with the challenges thrown at us determines how sane we are in the end, and only a strong and loving heart can endure much of the sorrow that life throws at us. Sometimes it is our inability to forgive ourselves our own faults that hinder us the most, not to mention refusing to forgive another for their own. No one is perfect, we are all works of art still in the making.

Hello again

Well, it has been too long since last I posted anything. Journeys are not always easy, certainly they are seldom quick. I have not yet completed mine, but have been dragged off course many times as is too often the case in life. It tackles you, it loves its little jokes, however mean they might be. How so like humans come to think of it. Doesn’t everyone once or twice in their life like to shock or surprise?

I have may shocks and surprises, too many are not at all pleasant, but life is like that really. A friend of mine died Monday. A very great shock to me as we had just exchanged emails and I was to give her the link to this page. I would like to believe I heard her join the heavenly orchestra as she was a very fine Cello player, perhaps I did as they seemed very sweet yesterday. But isn’t it usually? :) I have not cried, yet, I know I shall. We are made that was. We laugh, we cry, we all must say goodbye.

God Bless!!

We the Unappreciate

Are we so unappreciative, or unappreciated in life

that we forget one another day to day

until some part of life slaps us upside the head

with hard reality?

How cold the human heart is,

how strange,

to be only lit warmly upon a tragedy,

or brief moments of close ties.

Yet, how close?

Is the heart ever truly warmed?

Does it every truly feel for its fellow?

What a sham we all are!

To shed tears for fallen ones

or those who have gone away,

when our hearts and thoughts may never have been closer to them

than they are to any other stranger.

We are too separate.

Terrified of contact with someone other than ourselves,

afraid of losing something we have no real name for

other than privacy.

How cold and cruel we are,

what a wicked game we play.

Who will weep for us

when we have gone away?

Who will remember us

or even care

of our passage through this world

to the next?

A lowly bitter creature,

torn from one,

following we thought none,

greedy for love and companionship,

but too selfish to give them, whole heartedly,

in return.

Have a very awesome week

I have begun a journey that I hope to finish very soon. Started it actually last year but was stopped and now have decided it high time to get through with it. Journeys can be quite fun and enlightening, not just to the world and the universe, but ourselves. Incredible what one learns while writing and travelling though this world.

Have a good one, will drop in when I can and post a poem here for you now. Enjoy, I wrote it last night before sleep waved its hand over me.

With Love, Words

Words,

from the universe,

to me,

to the page,

then to you.

Words,

first whispered,

almost sung,

then written with wonder,

begging for the harmony,

heard from above.

Words,

just words,

but gifts,

whispered,

sometimes sung,

always written and shared.

Words,

from the universe,

to me,

to the page,

then to you,

with love.

Have a wonderful weekend

This seemed fitting, the shadows of the day are deep and make the day feel different. I have noticed this about some days, the way shadows lay seen to make the day strange, sometimes enchanting, sometime melancholy and sometime bold, some days you feel like just watching them all day, or reading, or sitting under a tree and enjoy the whole day. Or perhaps walking in a tree lined way. So many things cast shadows, some are by light, some by mood of the mind. Sometimes when I write I wonder where the words and thoughts come from. They almost don’t seem like mine. Strange? Maybe not.

Shadow Play

Shadows lay different at different times of the day

And different seasons of the year,

They also lay different in days of fair weather and foul.

There are shadows at night

That lay as different as the light that casts them falls.

Some shadows dance and sway to a music

Only they can hear,

Or maybe a lover’s heart.

Some shadows play hide and seek,

Or tag as they run behind or before us.

Some seem to carry secrets of what they might hide.

Shadows lay long and deep,

Or small and shallow,

They can be restful and gentle,

Helpful as they cool a cruel sun.

Shadows lay different at different times of the day,

And different seasons bring different shadows,

Like memories life weaves.

Good Night

I wrote this for someone who is very special to me. He has meant a lot to me in my life and I am so glad to have him a part of my family. You can see some of what he does on the web. Eldon Hunewell. A sweet guy full of life!

The Rockhound

He walks a way few others do

But who walks as well ‘in another man’s shoes?

He climbs hills and mounts

Searches for things made

When earth was quite new

And man did not exist.

He hunts for a treasure of another kind,

Sometimes hid in plain site,

Sometimes hid neatly within.

Sometimes he holds

A single plain looking stone

Which reveals when opened

More than simple jewels,

A world is revealed.

One longing to be held,

Beheld.

He walks a path few others would try,

Despite days when pain fills every stride.

He reaches further

Being both the rock & the tree.

Have a good day

Shades of Grey

Life is seldom black and white
we live in shades of grey,
drifted too long in half forgotten dreams
sailed in rivers and streams
watched suns set on days the same as it rose,
but shades of grey fill most days,
wash the color of both suns
leave the world quiet.
A deep blue sky matches a deep blue sea
but both are washed in the same shades of grey,
To some this makes for a sad and dreary world,
but comfort and peace can be most welcome
when days are too hectic,
to loud and too bright.
Shades of grey are like rainy days,
and everyone knows
we need a little rain some days.

Heave can be very loud at times…..

I have found that sitting quietly can make it so what was at first faint becomes so much louder I ask if others hear it as well. They always say no and this saddens me. Something so beautiful should be heard and enjoyed, appreciated. Will other be blessed sometime later here, or will they only hear heaven once they are there?

God Bless

Listening

If you are quiet enough

listen close enough,

you might hear what I hear

the songs of angels

and all the music of heaven,

or perhaps they will make something different for you.

Heaven wakens in me,

sometimes when the day is too much,

or life moves too fast.

Sometimes when it is quiet,

they fill the air around me

Angels and music and all God has called.

Sometimes barely a whisper,

sometimes quite loud,

I often wonder

can anyone else hear what I hear?

Angels and all of heaven,

the whisperings of God.

Do I hear these with me ears,

or with my heart?

Where Did This Come From?

by Dallas Sieck

We are all started on a journey

not of our choosing,

our feet placed upon a path

but by no means is it the only one we can take,

as with any journey

there are branches and turnings and complete breaks away.

There are times when no clear path can be found,

and times when the one we thought we should take

turns out to be very wrong.

The dark and scary,

the narrow and over grown,

these may make you shudder and flinch,

but the way smoothes out soon enough on its own

and remember

no righteous way is ever clear and easy to travel,

for whatever reasons God has

the way is difficult,

but perhaps due more to our avoidance

than to purposely being made so.

After all,

how can a path be clear and easy to travel,

when so very few are willing to venture its way?

This made me giggle more for the title that came to mind than the words that I wrote. Funny how we are sometimes.

God Bless!!

Sometimes thought are random

We do not always control the thoughts that flood our minds, nor the way in which they fly from our minds. They come and they go, how they are used when they are here is up to us, though a properly used word is far more likeable than one carelessly thrown about. Yes, today thoughts fly in and out and around. They resemble the butterflies of summer.

GOD BLESS

Grab a Butterfly Net

Chase not butterflies, but words

That flutter and fly

Attempting to keep well out of reach of me.

Thought drip in,

Then begin to fall like rain,

A flood will quickly come,

But the words laugh and run away.

They are like the giggle of a brook,

Laughter of rain as it dances on leaf and grass

And the water of a lake.

The fly away with wings like butterflies,

From one form they have grown to another,

Like any tiny seed.

How do you catch them with a butterfly net

Or make sense of them when you have?

Almost too random they are,

Fluttering around they seem just mere random words,

But gathered carefully they soon form

The strict form of wondrous thoughts

That floated down from heaven,

Then back up from me.

Hello
